Laurie Marum

Acupuncture works with the body’s own energy and biological systems to restore balance and health. According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, the body’s vital energy, called qi, circulates within channels (meridians) throughout the body. In a healthy person, the energy flows smoothly and is in balance. Illness or disease occurs when the energy flow is disrupted or is out of balance. In addition, acupuncture triggers the neurotransmitters of the brain to impart a sense of wellbeing.

Acupuncture uses small needles to move the qi in the channels (meridians) to restore balance and keep the body healthy. I am especially skilled with first time clients, sensitive individuals and needle phobic people.

Reiki is a subtle form of energy healing, in which the hands are placed slightly off the body or lightly touching the body. The trained practitioner channels energy or Qi to strengthen the natural healing of the body.

Reiki supports the balance in the person’s entire system – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual – and can gently affect one’s balance on even the deepest levels of being where the subtle underpinnings of disease are held

Reiki is embraced by many hospitals where it is offered as a complement to conventional treatments.

Laurie is a Reiki Master in the Usui System of Reiki and has been practicing this hands-on therapy since 1989. Reiki paired with acupuncture is a powerful healing combination that Laurie uses with great success on her patients.

Qigong (also spelled Ch’i Kung) is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China.
